TOURNAMENT IS AT TEMPE TOWN LAKE, CLICK HERE FOR A MAP
OK, this will be a different one than we are used to. Victory Lane has some other events going on and we really wanted to have one, so we are trying out the new Tempe Town Lake courts for the first time. We only have 4 courts there, and no lights, so we have to keep this limited to only 12 Men's Teams and 6 Women's Teams.
Here's how it will work, we can't go by first come/first in like normal, as we receive entries we will seed them by points into the list. We will not hold any spots for TBAs. On Thursday Night we will cut the list at the top 12 Men's and top 6 Women's teams based on points. Thus basically the highest ranked AZBVA teams that sign up will be competing.
Even if you don't think you have enough points, and are unable to talk someone with a lot of points into playing with you, you should still sign up so we know you are interested in playing in case we have any late drops.
The first ever Tempe Town Lake event, and our "Best of the West" tourney is this Saturday April 25th, so sign up right away!
Arizona Volleyball will someday have this process automated, but in the meantime click here to send us an email, include both you and your partner's name, and which division you are signing up for. We should have your information added within a few hours to the currently registered list.
Divisions are as follows:
Men's Open -- $30 per player -- Double Elim Olympic Crossover Bracket, 7:00 AM check-in
Women's Open -- $25 per player -- pool play, double-elim OC 8:45 AM check-in
IN ORDER TO PLAY IN AZBVA TOURNAMENTS YOU HAVE TO OBTAIN THE 2009 AVPNext MEMBERSHIP!!! We can get you one at the tournament but it is $5 more than doing it online.
*** Don't sign up unless you will be there. One of our FAQ's is what happens to teams that are no-shows on tournament day? Answer: Since we cannot count on them being there, they are automatically bumped to the Wait List any time they are registered for a full tournament until they have proven their attendance again at multiple future tourneys and apologized and brought us coffee. With the limited court space and very high probability that every tourney through May will be a sell-out it DEFINITELY is in your best interest to stay off the Naughty No-Show List.
Men's/Women's Open is the highest level of play, A division next, and B is Novice level. All teams advance from pool play into playoffs.
