Men's Open Champions Tom Witt and Bryan Vogel won $200, AVP Wilson balls, and killer Wilson large round ball bags. Tom was a little bummed new sweat-free shirts and towels were not among this tourney's prizes, even though Brian dressed for snow and is sweat-free still. We're working on a sponsorship with Right Guard for future tourneys. :-)

2nd placers Nick Wirtanen and Harold Johnson won $100 and the 2008 AVP Yellow Backpacks. The Star Trek logo on Harold's blue shirt glowed bright white much of the night, and he kept pushing on it and saying "Beam me up" before he would jump and crush a ball, making us wonder if his out-of-this-world success is just that. If his new baby boy (born just days after the tourney - CONGRATS!) has long green fingers or pointed Spock-like ears we're calling the 'X-files'.

The volleyball world was turned upside down by the news that Eric Burness and Rico Becker took 3rd, winning $50 and Plastic shirts. Rumor is that as they left they were overheard saying, "Next time we play normally, right-handed and with our eyes open."

3rd place finishers Kreig Johnson and Alex Dale also won $50 and Plastic shirts. Kreig won an "A" tourney early in the year, and was upset we made him keep playing open as he took his uno-dos-adios medicine 3 times in a row. But now he is the poster child for how the system works, making to the semi's and almost the finals. Take note everyone, and look out. He's getting very good.
